“Ari had an opportunity to work with Andrew for private and group sessions during the summer of 2025. It was great to see more specific instructions applied to the sessions. The instructions led to more understanding of the right habits to have to be more consistent in the offensive phases of the game. Andrew also provided a timely assessment that was communicated to understand and increase Ari’s IQ and confidence.” - Steve Lampedusa
“Working out with Coach Platek helped me become a true three-level scorer. He’s helped improve my finishing, tighten my ball handling, and take my shooting to another level. He teaches details that a lot of trainers and coaches overlook. Whether I’m working out alone or playing in a big game, I’m always using the tips he’s given me. I’m looking forward to training with Andrew again as I prepare for college and continuing to elevate my game by adding new tools to my bag.” - Yale Commit Jack Louridas
“Coach Andrew Platek has been an incredible influence on our family’s development in basketball, both for my son and my daughter. At just 27 years old, he has already built and runs a highly respected private basketball training program that reflects his drive, professionalism, and deep understanding of the game. My son, who is in 8th grade, has trained with Coach Platek dozens of times, and the growth in his skills and overall confidence has been remarkable. He has developed stronger ball-handling, more consistent shooting mechanics, sharper footwork, and a much higher basketball IQ — all of which have translated directly into game performance. In fact, during the latter part of the JV season, he was moved up to varsity — an opportunity we truly believe was made possible in large part by the extra skills and preparation he gained through training with Coach Platek.” - Todd Birmingham
“Coach Platek’s impact has been just as meaningful for my daughter, who is a junior in high school, a team captain, and currently ranked top five in her league in both scoring and free throw percentage. I truly credit her increased offensive confidence and overall scoring ability to the focused skill development she’s received through his training. She has truly valued the opportunity to participate in Coach Platek’s training sessions for female athletes, and she has also excelled in his competitive co-ed workouts. His professional and Division I playing background gives him unmatched credibility, but it’s his passion, attention to detail, and ability to connect with players that truly set him apart. The athletes he trains are engaged, motivated, and excited to improve. If you’re looking for a trainer who combines elite-level experience with a genuine commitment to developing young players, Coach Andrew Platek is exceptional.” - Todd Birmingham
“Working with Andrew Platek has been a complete game-changer for Will DiCaprio this season. As a junior point guard navigating the high-stakes environment of Section 2 basketball, Will needed to transition from a role player to a true floor general—and Andrew provided the exact blueprint to make that happen. Andrew’s experience at the highest levels of the game shines through in his training. This season, he helped Will excel in three critical areas. First, he refined Will’s ball-handling and shot creation, allowing him to navigate tight Section 2 defenses with poise. Additionally, Andrew’s mentorship deepened Will’s understanding of pace and floor spacing, transforming how he manages the game in transition. Beyond the physical drills, Andrew instilled a "next-play" mentality that has kept Will composed during the most competitive stretches of the 2025-26 season. This piece has held true and only become more evident as Will and the Niskayuna team progresses into the Section 2 Class AA Playoffs as the #2 seed. The transformation is evident in every box score, and off the court as well. Thanks to Andrew’s focused training, Will isn’t just participating this year—he is leading. His ability to facilitate the offense while remaining a consistent scoring threat made him one of the most versatile guards in the area. Andrew Platek doesn't just teach you how to play basketball; he teaches you how to master it. His influence was the X-factor in Will’s success this season.” - Joe DiCaprio, Will DiCaprio's Dad
“My son, Jack, started working with Andrew this past summer in anticipation of his first prep school season. I knew of Andrew from his playing career at North Carolina and Siena. Andrew's advanced knowledge of the game and his ability to connect with young athletes is remarkable. Jack has been having a terrific year, shooting the ball well and playing with much more confidence. Andrew has played a crucial role in his development and we plan to continue to work with him this summer to get Jack college ready. If you're a beginner looking to learn the fundamentals or an advanced player wanting to play at the next level, I highly recommend Andrew as a trainer.” - Aaron Louridas
“After working out with other trainers and trying to find the one that fit my game best, it only took me one session to know this was “my guy”. Platek’s training truly formed me into the player I am today. Fixed my shot, improved my handles and finishing skills around the rim tremendously in just a few months. He not only helped my game but my confidence. By consistently working with him, I feel I can handle any situation that a game could throw at me.” - Ethan Peck
“Andrew, I needed to take a moment to make you aware of the difference you have made in AJ’s game of basketball. In the time he’s spent with you he has learned the game at an entirely new level. The techniques and mindset he carries now along with the confidence he needed allows him to work through tough situations on the court with ease. The dedication you give to him from a parent’s perspective is just amazing! - J. R. Heffner
“The game has come easier for me ever since working out with you. The amount of knowledge and growth I’ve gained since working out has been awesome. You helped me develop moves I never thought I was capable of.” - AJ Heffner
“Dannie Baker had been playing organized basketball since the 4th grade .As we practiced and played with all types of different teams we could see the love for the game and his passion to learn and continue to improve. We had visited most of the summer camps in the capital district and were searching for the next level of 1 on 1 skills training. At the end of one of our AAU seasons I knew we had to get better in order to compete in the following year, one of my close friends from Niskayuna had suggested Andrew Platek. From the very first phone conversation we knew Andrew was going to take us to the next level. Then on the very first skill session with Andrew as Dannie’s dad I was 100% validated that this guy was teaching basketball on a college level. From an extremely talented player himself, and a very respectful young man to a smart businessman, Andrew had taught my son skills/ mechanics & ball handling skills I had never witnessed before from anyone teaching 1 on 1 training. As our son completed year 25/‘26 JV season at Albany Academy , the team ended up 20-1 with a schedule built from prep schools to section 2 schools, My son's success & confidence with ball handling skills combined with the ability to knock down 3 pointers is largely due to the time spent training with Andrew Platek, we are looking forward to another year of off season training with Guilderland, UNC & Siena stand out.” - Dannie & Dan Baker
"As a parent, Coach Platek is everything I want in a trainer for my child. Each session is filled with drills designed to elevate their basketball abilities, but more importantly, he is teaching them how to be basketball players. He challenges not only their physical skills but how they think about and see the game. He has built a strong coach-player relationship, taking the time to break down film, discuss concepts of how to adjust play to fit specific situations and design a training program to work on the areas needed to continue progressing as a basketball player. Any parent looking to help their child improve as a basketball player should give Platek Basketball a chance to help them."
"Coach Platek has made it very easy to develop a good relationship with him over a very short period of time. He is someone that is very easy to talk to and ask any and all questions that you may have. After each session I feel that I have improved in many different ways. Not only from the standpoint of skills and drills, but he also makes sure that each drill is done with purpose and will be something that can be used in a game. He has also helped me with my confidence and keeping my composure throughout the game, both things that I have always struggled with. Adding on to that he has helped me to mentally understand the game better, making me think of when and why I will use specific things. I would highly recommend Coach Platek and his training sessions to any player wanting to grow and improve their game, in any and all areas."
